Since rounding out a hugely successful Legends National Series campaign only a few weeks Robby Lyons’ career continues its upward climb as the 25 year old Florida native will move up several gears and debut in the ARCA by Menard’s stock car series test at Daytona International Speedway (DIS) on December 19th.

PressRelease_2014Dec19Hot off the heals of a successful NASCAR Late Model race debut Robby will be driving a Rick Ware Racing (RWR) prepared Chevrolet Impala. This will be his first taste of a 2.5 mile super speedway driving a ‘down force’ car on the iconic banked oval track.

“Being able to drive at Daytona has been a dream of mine since I was 5 years old,” he commented. “This is undoubtedly the biggest step I’ve taken to achieving that dream, and I can’t wait to get behind the wheel of the RWR ARCA Series race car on the 19th. If you dream it you can do it.”

Manager Andy Woolgar added, “The purpose of his test is merely to get Robby acquainted with the bigger stock car and higher speeds. This test comes around once a year and provides a great opportunity as well as allowing him to gain approval for ARCA Series races in 2015. The cars are older style u built specifically for super speedways, and were previously used in the Nationwide Series with 700bhp engines.”

Robby will be under the guidance of Rick Ware and veteran Cup driver and experienced team owner Randy MacDonald. Thanks go to Sunwest Construction for their continued help with this next step in his career development.
